Fashion Meets Faith friends, I want to introduce you to a special guest author and friend – Leah Hollins. She writes on her blog, has a fun Instagram, and has awesome fashion pins on her Pinterest. Oh yeah, and she’s only 18!!! You’re gonna love her advice about Fall Fashion when it’s warm. Especially if you live in the South! And isn’t she gorgeous??
Hey Y’all!! I’m so excited it’s finally Fall! And you know what that means: it’s time to bring out the boots and sweaters! Some of my most favorite trends and colors belong to fall, but I don’t always get to wear what I want, when I want. You might ask why, but the answer is quite simple, I live in the South. That being said, I’m not complaining about where I live, but I am complaining about the weather. It is not supposed to be 80 degrees so late in the fall season! I know the South is notorious for its milder climate, but when it comes to fashion, the weather puts a damper on things. But like every problem, there is a solution! Today I am going to share with you a couple solutions to this fall fashion predicament.
1. Be a damsel in the dress!
I love to wear dresses. They make me feel so dainty and ladylike. Dresses are a great way to get the feel of fall without the fear of overheating. Plus, you can find dresses with different cuts to compliment any body type. Adding boots and a light sweater easily provides that extra fall-ish punch!
2. Show off your arms!
This means you do not need to be afraid to wear short sleeves or tank tops. I know that it’s fall and all you want to do is pull out your sweaters, but that time of year does not always come as soon in the South as it does in other places. It really is unfortunate! There are actually more ways than you think to wear shorter or no sleeves. One way is to layer shorter sleeves with a vest. I just got a vest not too long ago and I am always trying to find new ways to incorporate it into my outfits. Another way is to have fun with fall colors and patterns. Wear a fall colored tank with denim and a light scarf and you’re staying cool while participating in fall fashion!
There you have it! Two fashion-forward ways to beat the heat while channeling fall. The options are virtually limitless. Remember, there are many ways to use color and pattern to stay trendy no matter the weather!
